​The Loran Award is an exciting opportunity for students considering university studies in fall 2023. The only award of its kind in Canada, the Loran Award is a four-year leadership enrichment program comprised of summer work experiences, mentorship, annual gatherings, an annual living stipend, a tuition waiver at one of 25 university partners, and a community of people working to build a better world.


It is much more than simply a financial scholarship for post-secondary studies. It is an opportunity to build critical skills and capacity for leadership, to expand horizons by taking on new challenges and exploring diverse experiences, and to join a community of purpose-driven peers who are committed to leaving the world better than they found it. 

To identify Loran Scholars, we look beyond the transcript to find evidence of character, commitment to service, and the potential for leadership. We look for those who are humble, inquisitive, and thoughtful; who shun the status quo and pursue their own unique paths; who bring others along, will act in the face of injustices, and are inspired to build a better world. It is the long-term mission of our organization to invest in the development of our country’s diverse leadership ecosystem. We believe our society will thrive if we ensure that these high-potential students are given the opportunity to imagine, explore, and create the future. 

The deadline to apply is October 12, 2022 before 8pm ET.

All eligible students are welcome to apply by filling out the application, uploading a transcript, and naming a reference.
