HOCKEY NEW BRUNSWICK - Scholarships
Scholarship
applications will be considered for all scholarships, provided the applicant
meets the criteria listed here.

**NEW- TRACY ARSENAULT WOMEN’S HOCKEY SCHOLARSHIP (Value
$3000 CAD)
The
Tracy Arsenault Memorial Women’s Hockey Scholarship is a privately funded
scholarship which was established in 2020-2021, following a proposal made to
her widowed husband by Tracy herself prior to her passing. In addition
to the other scholarship application requirements listed in the scholarship process; female applicants must also have a
letter of recommendation sent in from the applicant’s former coach or referee
in chief (to be sent directly to HNB by separate email or postal mail). In
their submission (maximum 200 words), the Coach or Referee in Chief should
specify: i. the reasons why they have supported the female candidate
ii. How they know the candidate, and for how long.

Jim Stirling Scholarship (Value $1000CAD)
B.F.
Lorenzetti and Associates Inc. are the insurance brokers for Hockey Canada. In
1996, B.F. Lorenzetti began sponsoring a program for Hockey Canada that allows
every Branch to present a bursary to a deserving hockey player who can
demonstrate their financial need.
Delta Fortis Properties Scholarship
(Value $1000 CAD)
Established
in 2003 to recognize a Grade 12 student who has had hockey play a positive role
in their life.
HNB Academic Scholarship in Memory of Ron Bradbury
(Value $1000 CAD)
Established
in 2002 to recognize the outstanding contribution of Ron Bradbury to the sport
of hockey. The recipient of this scholarship provides proof of outstanding
academic results throughout their high school education or University
education.
Criteria to apply for an HNB Scholarship:
* Applicant must have been a Hockey New Brunswick member or
associate member in the 2020-2021 hockey season (HNB player, NBIAA player or
HNB Official).
* Applicant must be under the age of 21 as of December 31st of the
current season.
* Applicant must be graduating or must be a graduate who is
pursuing post-secondary studies in 2021-2022.
How to Apply for an HNB Scholarship:
* Applicant must send a 300 to 500-word essay (double-spaced) to
the Selection Committee outlining their community involvement, as well as
financial need. The essay should explain how hockey has impacted their life.
* Provide complete record of academic transcripts for grades 10-12,
or in university
* Provide an athletic resumé (outline sports involvement by year)
* Proof of post-secondary education acceptance letter
* Please include a photo of your choice with your completed
submission
*Incomplete
applications will not be considered. Please ensure your application is complete
and includes all required components at the time of your submission.
