NBCC Admission Process Update

The College Admissions Service (CAS) has reopened this week and has begun processing applications for students who wish to attend NBCC next fall. Applicants should continue to expect delays with regard to the processing of applications for the foreseeable future.

Temporary adjustments have been made to our documentation requirements. Please read below for details.

Transcripts

  • NBCC will accept transcripts from High Schools and directly from applicants by e-mail. NBCC will consider the electronic copy as an “official” document. NBCC reserves the right to audit transcripts sent directly by applicants; however, as a temporary measure we understand the limitations of accessing services and they will accept these as official documents accordingly.

  • It will be the responsibility of the applicant to ensure the transcript is accurately demonstrating the learning outcomes. Transcripts must indicate if courses were modified or adjusted.

  • If students are not successful in retrieving their High School transcript or having difficulty accessing please contact NBCC and they will do their  best to assist.

2020 High School Grads (Grade 12)

  • Successful completion of High School remains as a basis for all admission profiles based on the approved definition from the province.

  • All applicants who were on grad track and expected to graduate based on their status in January 2020 will be eligible to begin their studies in September 2020.

  • All NBCC Admission profiles remain the same; however, due to COVID-19 we will be flexible when reviewing specific High School course requirements.

  • Courses on the transcript showing as “ENR” or “CR” will be considered “successfully completed” with the assumption the student was not enrolled in a modified learning plan.

2021 High School Grads (Grade 11)

  • Grade 11 applicants are not permitted to apply for 2021 until further notice. We are focusing our efforts on the Fall and once we are able to accommodate grade 11 applicants for 2021 we will communicate accordingly and re-open our application portals.

  • Grade 11 students who were enrolled during the winter 2020 term in a specific grade 11 course required for a specific NBCC admission profile will not be expected to repeat the course in their grade 12 year and we will honour the “ENR” or “CR” as a completion (same as above); however, all students are strongly encouraged to repeat courses in order to better prepare for their post-secondary journey.
