I would like to begin by introducing myself. My name is Alex Yaychuk and I will be your Acting Principal for the 2021-2022 School year. I am so excited to be a member of this incredible GCES team and can not wait to get to know our students and families.

I hope you have all enjoyed the summer months and that your children (and you!) are recharged and excited for another wonderful school year at GCES. In the coming days, our Teachers, Educational Assistants, Administrative Assistants, Custodians, and all support staff will be working diligently to ensure that we hit the ground running during the week of September 7^th in order to offer your children the best learning experience possible.

Following a school year (2020-2021) like no other, there will surely be questions about what this year will bring. As our dedicated team works tirelessly to answer these questions, I can assure you that our staff will be committed to ensuring that your child’s safety, both emotional and physical, is kept as our top priority.

We have a number of important events and dates which will be communicated to you throughout the school year either by email or by occasional voicemail including our upcoming ‘Meet the Teacher’ night. Stay tuned!

Lastly, I would like to add that upon entering the Garden Creek school last Spring, I could instantly feel an amazing sense of community, positivity, joy, and passion for serving our children. I am so thankful for the opportunity to contribute to the fantastic reputation that GCES has.
