Whew, what a busy week: Evacuation, Lock-down, Bus Safety, Picture Day, and an Earth Rangers assembly! The students handled it all with ease, ending the week earning 6 points in PE on Friday. Students also completed a self-assessment on their progress so far in Grade 3, and I was pleasantly surprised at their honesty as they evaluated themselves. They were all able to tell me what they needed to do to boost their marks, or their effort. These 'progress reports' were sent home on Friday, so make sure you talk to your child about them. Students also took home a letter they wrote about Grade 3, please have them read it to you.

Next week will see the start of our Home Reading program, as well as the start of Word Work in class. We are nearing the end of our Science unit on Materials and Structures, with a final building project in class this week. Watch for video uploads of these projects.

Thanks for sending in your school supply fees, as well as the field trip permission slip and toonie for the bus.

Upcoming events:

*Thursday, October 27th - Field trip to Mactaquac Generating Station

*Saturday, October 29th, 4-6pm - Howlfest here at GNMES

Thanks for sending your child to GNMES and to helping them find their greatness!
