What we are learning:

Literacy:  5 new sight words and phrases – at, him, with, up, all

Numeracy:  Counting to 10, recognizing sets to 10 and number words to 10, review of patterning.

You and Your World:   Oct. 16 – 20 is Safe Schools Week – we will be talking about and practicing our bus safety, lock down and evacuation procedures.

 

Information Items/Dates to Remember:

·        Oct. 16 – Math-a-thon money due.

·        Oct. 24 - Students dismissed at 11:00 a.m. for teacher Professional Development.

·        Please note if there are any changes to your child’s going home arrangements, we MUST have a note from you or a phone call to the office before 1:00 on Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. and 10:00 on Wed.

·        Oct. 28 – Howlfest at GNMES – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

·        Please continue to check your child’s hair each night as cases of lice have been reported.

·        Please send in spoons/forks in your child’s lunch if required.  We don’t have these utensils in our class.

·        A reminder that toys are not allowed in class or on our playground.

·        Students are invited to wear school colors (blue and green) on Fridays

Homework

·        5 new words and phrases and read 1 good fit book each night

·        Please check your child’s homework bag each night for any important information from school.

·        Return your child’s homework bag each day.

·        Label any money being sent to school so the teacher will know its intended purpose.
