First Week

Our first week was a success! Lots of tiredness and some whining the first two days (from students and adults alike), but by week's end all was good - even with the heat. Our numbers have been changing daily as new students arrive, but the students are handling it all with smiling faces.

To those of you who have already sent in your homework, thanks! To those of you who haven't, I'm hoping the weekend will provide the time to get everything filled out.

Reminders:

1) Student fees of $45 are due ASAP (this money is used to buy regular school supplies, as well as any materials needed for fun art and math activities, as well as materials needed for science experiments). If sending all $45 at once is difficult, please know that you can pay it in installments ($5 per month covers it).
 2) The Meet the Teacher and Cornboil is this coming Tuesday from 5:00 - 6:30. This is a very casual affair, with corn being served in the cafeteria and teachers hanging out in their classes for chats with parents...no big presentations! I hope to meet all of you, but if you can't make it and want to meet another time just let me know.
3) We've got a field trip coming up the end of September, we'll be walking down to the Heritage Center to do some tree planting, and will be looking at the various buildings and structures along the way. Look for a permission slip next week.
4) Check out my teacher page on the school website, I'll be posting a short video of the students building structures yesterday.

Thanks for sending your child to GNMES and to helping them find their greatness!
