7ABC - Introduction from Mrs. Browne

Hello families of 7A, B and C,
 
I’m looking forward to teaching your wonderful kids beginning today and for the rest of the school year. I have had a few days prior to today to interact with the students and I believe they’re going to have a great remainder to their Grade 7 year here at Bliss Carman.
 
To tell you a little bit about myself, I majored in forensic biology at the University of Toronto and received a Masters from the University of Alberta (researching deer genetics, of all things) and then pursued a teaching degree from Queen’s University. It was as a grad student that I found a passion for educating young minds while teaching biology labs to first year university students. Since then, I have been teaching mostly high school math until I found myself happily situated at Bliss Carman this past September. Since the beginning of the school year, I have been teaching Grade 6 students. However, I am excited now to be making the jump to teaching Grade 7 math and science, two subjects I am very passionate about.
 
My intentions for the rest of the school year are not to cause too many ripples in the water with the months we have left, so with the help of administration and, of course, Mrs. Lingley, I am hoping to make as seamless a transition into the classroom as possible. I will, for the most part, be continuing to work from Mrs. Lingley’s wikispace (https://mrs-lingley.wikispaces.com/), so please continue to refer to her website.
