MJs Math-This week

Hello students and parents!

I hope you had a great weekend! This week we will be working with percentages, long division tricks to estimate quickly and continue practicing calculating tax quickly!

If you need help or review:

  • I have posted two new Ppts `Pourcentage2017`` and ``Les fractions et les nombres décimaux`` in the documents section
  • Visit Khan Academy sites (URL in weblinks) and make sure you can: reduce and use ALL operations with fractions; long divide (with answers less than 1); calculate 10% of a number and use patterns and algebra to find more percentages and convert from fraction to decimal to percentage.

Your pixel project is due on December 20th by 3pmIf you KNOW you will be absent on that day, please hand it in prior.

The sheet for the project can be found under the douments section ``L`art des fractions 2017``

-you need 6 different colours in addition to white

-you must show one calculation fraction-decimal-percent and the cost of the colour (each square is 1,41$) in the space provided.  You may use ANY strategy you want but it MUST be neat and presented clearly.

-You may use a calculator for the rest of the work.

For those of you who want some extra credit work:

-create a Kahoot ( mark your date to present it on calendar when I have IPADS booked)

-present a: math game, trick, strategy or website to the class

-teach a lesson on a particular concept including assessment

-show initiative with YOUR OWN research project idea: suh as coding, robotics, website  or game design, architecture and blueprints, music and Math...

Career project:

-You have chosen your career, now research what steps in education you will need to attain your goal.

-What courses in High School will help your career path

-What things (activities, hobbies, clubs, volunteer work ...) outside of school will support your future career

-What post-secondary education will you need (degree, courses, technical training, certificates etc)

---Record your research and keep with your career choices. (All info written in French as well as information included ie: any documents you have printed or have used.)

Have a great week!
