​Hello amazing students and parents!

This week we reviewed conversions from fractions, decimals and percents for both grades.  This is very important as it is a skill they will use frequently over the next few years.

• Pixel drawings with fraction sheet (where you calculate!) is due for all classes on Monday February 27 at 3pm. If it is passed in late with NO reasonable excuse, there will be a penalty.  (refer to my first posts in January)
• I have found a FABULOUS new Math website called Podigy Math (prodigymath.com).  For all of my lovelies who would like another avenue to get extra credit marks in my class should use this resource and it should be used at least TWICE a week by ALL my students for extra practice.  As it is in Engish we will not be using it in class frequently but it is rather an at-home resource but I will recieve the data, frequency of play and other important information so: Play it if you are away, at home sick or on a snowday. Play it twice a week as mandatory homework as well.

2. go to `play prodigy`
3. select `new student`
4. Enter code for you class (below)
5. Create your avatar and peruse the site!
6. I have put a focus on multiplying fractions for this week.

This is an optional extra credit resource but I encourage you to play this and practice.  There is an online app for your phone if you choose to download it free.  As this is an English resource we will not be using it in class often but as it is a phenomenal math practice site I encourage you to give it try!

Give it a try!   I am administrator for all pages so make sure you are being kind and honest.  I will review the stats daily and give marks accordingly based on:  time you played (multiple times a week...etc,   skill improvement and advancement in level).  The first time you play you will be assessed and your level is sent to me:)

In other news, we watched Jimmy Fallon vs David Beckham in egg roulette.  You had to create a chart of the rounds and represent each round with the fraction of raw vs cooked that are left (in fraction and percentage forms)  This will be handed in to me for completion mark on Monday February 27 by 3pm.
