Sight Words: Our sight words this week are: know, said, be, me, you.  We will practice these all week during mini-lessons, independent work, and guided work. We are also practicing printing our sight words at the end of each week.

Reading: Students continue to practice their reading daily, using choices such as Read to Someone, Read to Self or Listen to Reading. Students also work in small guided groups, working on reading strategies with the teacher.

Writing

This week will begin with a Halloween writing piece. Throughout the week we will continue to focus on our previous writing strategies and review last weeks goals, using the word wall and uppercase letters. This week we will focus on using punctuation in our writing.

Math

Last week we completed a math assessment (be sure to check you Show What you Know books this week). This week we will begin a new unit on addition and subtraction to the number 12. We will be looking at the number line and making various combinations of numbers on ten frames.
