​Teachers will be posting what is happening in their math class each week. Please check the website to see what your child is learning and how to help them at home.

Ms. Abbott - This week will be looking at how to represent numbers in different ways using base ten blocks. Students will learn to either change a 10 rod or a 100 flat to show the number differently. We will also learn a fun new game called race to 100, where students will be racing against each other to build a 100 flat first.

Mme Green: This week we will be using benchmarks of tens, hundreds, thousands and ten thousands to estimate. For example rounding numbers to the closest ten, hundred, thousand or ten thousand to make the number easier to work with. We will also be using estimation strategies to subtract. Students will be bringing home a quiz that they completed last week on what we have learned so far. Please look this over with your child, sign and return to school by Friday.
