The Technology Subject Coordinator focuses on the integration of technology across the curriculum through close collaboration with stakeholders. Additionally, the Technology Subject Coordinator brings knowledge in the areas of technology curriculum, professional development and provides resources that support the integration of technology (ICT) with teaching and learning.
ASD-S Skilled Trades and Technology Program offers a wide arrange of courses across our 14 high schools. These may include welding, carpentry, culinary, automotive, electronics, and framing to name a few. These courses offer students the opportunity to collaborate, practice critical thinking and problem solve skills through hands on learning, With an increasing demand for skilled tradespersons in our areas it is important that we provide our students the opportunity to be aware of the many different career pathways and provide relevant information they will inform them in their post –secondary options.
The role of our a technology mentors are to provide teachers and school administrators with ongoing support in the integration of 21st century technology coupled with instructional strategies that promote effective teaching, learning and professional growth. There are two technology mentors who support teachers across ASD-S.
