Recycle My Cell Challenge - Advance Notice

Mark your calendars!

Recycle NB advises us that the Recycle My Cell Challenge for schools will take place again this year and will run from the start of Waste Reduction Week, October 20 to November 21.

This is a chance for your school to make a difference environmentally, while having a chance to win $500 for your school’s green projects!

Recycle My Cell is Canada’s national recycling program for mobile phones and accessories.  In collaboration with Waste Reduction Week in Canada, the Challenge invites students from kindergarten to post-secondary to collect as many old wireless devices as possible, including cell phones, smartphones, wireless PDAs, pagers, accessories and cell phone batteries. The school in each province that collects the wireless devices, based on student population receives a $500 prize.
The sign up for the challenge takes place in October on the Waste Reduction Week Canada website. The Recycle My Cell organizers will provide everything you need to participate!
In addition to the Recycle My Cell materials, Recycle NB has printed posters and information sheets that it will send to you for use in your school. Just send an e-mail to info@recyclenb.com with the number of posters you need and the mailing address and Recycle NB will send you a package.
Join the Recycle My Cell Student Challenge – Get your school signed up in October and help grow the awareness about the importance of waste reduction and recycling among your students.
