A federal Election is being held in Canada on September 20th.  Students who are at least 18 years of age on that date are eligible to vote.  Elections Canada will also hire students who are at least 16 years old by September 20th to work at the election polls at a rate of $17.72 per hour plus overtime.  If you are interested in working on this election, you must apply immediately by either going to the Elections Canada website and clicking on the section entitled “Jobs” or calling the number that is on an Elections Canada Poster displayed in your school.  Your absence from school on Election Day will not be counted against you.

 

Student Vote is happening this Friday!  And just like the Federal Election, we need volunteers.  If you are interested in helping with Student Vote, please see Mr. Standring today in Room 119.  You can come see him at lunch today.

 

GRAD PHOTOS - 2022 Graduates!! HiLite Gallery Graduation Portrait Sign up Sheets are located in the School Office.  Sign up today for school Sessions from September 20th thru September 24th.  If you wish a session at the studio, you can call 848-7000.

 

Grad Clothing – Grad clothes need to be ordered on-line before end of October.  Go to KVHS Instagram or website for link to Esty’s.  Get your clothes before its too late.

KVHS Band & Choir - There will be a meeting after school today in the Music Room for any students interesting in joining the KVHS Band or Choir.  Please see Mrs. Shaw or Mrs. McIntyre if you are unable to attend.

 

Field Hockey -Any girls still interested in playing Field Hockey but have not been to a tryout must see Mr. Doiron in Room 006 during Advisory by Wednesday. 

 

Congratulations to the Girls Softball team on their HUGE win against their archrivals HVHS last night Final score 6-3!! Excellent Job Team!!

The Field Hockey team met a fierce opponent who was ready for them, last night. Oromocto High handed KV it’s for loss in a very long time, 4-1.

 

VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT for Boys wanting to try out for the hockey team this coming year. Tryouts will start on September 20th; Players MUST sign up prior to tryouts.  Information on how to sign up is located on the bulletin boards next to the gym and outside the library. Can also be found on our Facebook page.

 

Girls’ hockey tryouts are also just around the corner. They start Sept 21 and the cost is $100. The information on how to sign up, can also be found on the bulletin boards and on Facebook. 

 

Golf: There have been new developments. So, any students wanting to try out for the golf team, must come to the Library after announcements. You still need to be there even if you came yesterday.  Finally good luck to all our soccer teams, as they start their respective seasons.

Senior Girls Soccer – Please see Kandace in the Office during Advisory with completed forms!  No forms – No Play!  First home game tonight at 6:00 pm.  All Players be to the to the Field 30 minutes prior to game time.

 

Leadership Team - Do you love planning events? Do you want to have a say in what activities and events happen at KV? Would you like to choose the Grad events that the Class of 2022 enjoy this year? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should become a part of the 2021-2022 Student Leadership Team! As a part of the team, you will have the chance to make this year memorable!  If you are interested in finding out more about this, come to a meeting in room 115, Mrs. Lanigan's room, at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 15th. This is open to students in grades 9-12.

 

Renaissance – Could all members of Renaissance please meet on Thursday, September 16th at 12:30 in Mrs. Wright’s room, Room 136.  New members are always welcome!

 

Computer Club -There will be a meeting Thursday at lunch in Room 285 (BBT Lab) for anyone interested in Computer Club.  Here are some events that we will be participating in:  Cybersecurity -  Cybertitan – September – January.  Can Hack – March.  Programming – Canadian Computing Competition – February.  UNBSJ Programming Competition – May.  Robotics – Sumobot Competition – April.

 

Attention all Crusaders!  Each week, new part time jobs on the student job board are posted inside the Work Room.  Part time jobs are great for students who want to earn some extra cash during the school year.  We can help you prepare your Resume, cover letter and help you apply online for a job.  We are here to help you!

 

Reach for the Top:  Attention grade 9 students. Do you like trivia, and online quiz games?  If you do, the KVHS Reach for the Top team is for you!   

 

Any students interested in joining the Reach team can come to room 228 at lunch today to learn how to play. Bring your lunch and come check out a great activity!
