NIGHT OF THE ARTS: Are you an artist interested in selling your work? Please come to our meeting Thursday at lunch in Mrs. McCords Room #141, to learn about a Night of the Arts opportunity for you. Paintings, knitting, jewelry - we are looking for everything!

 

ONLINE ASSESSMENTS: This message is a reminder to all teachers who have grade 10 students in their period 1 class.  Please check in with your students regarding having a reliable computer/iPad for their upcoming online assessment on May 24th.  Please send a list of names to either Mrs. Lanigan or Ms. Costain of any student who will need a device provided by the school on the day of the assessment.

 

STUDENT JOB FAIR: KVHS will be having a Student Job Fair on Thursday, May 9th, in the library during lunch! Learn about part-time, seasonal, and volunteer opportunities. You can even bring your resume with you as some employers will be accepting applications on the spot!

Today is KD Day!

 

RECYCLING: Any teachers that want their recycling bun emptied please send it to the Bio Lab with a student during Advisory.

 

INTERNATIONAL CLUB:  Meets today in Mrs. Steeves’ Room #117. The International Club is for all international exchange and local students who are interested in learning more about each other's culture. Some of our activities will include mini-language lessons, food tastings, playing international games, appreciating music and art from other cultures, and just having fun socializing in a multicultural environment.

 

KD DRIVE: Starting this week Renaissance will be running a kraft dinner drive from April 22 to May 2nd.  We are asking students to bring boxes of KD into the advisory classes for us to donate to the church to thank them for the KD days and to help keep them going.  Classes can bring their boxes of KD to my Room #136 at any time.  We will also be placing a box in the office for them to be dropped off in.  Please encourage your students to participate.  We would love to see one box brought in for every student that attends!

Night of the Arts is coming up on Wednesday, May 15th. We are looking for visual artists to participate in the LIVE ART portion of the event! If you are interested, please contact Parker Cyr or Ms. McCracken on Teams.

Don't stress... you are NOT expected to complete the whole piece during the event. You can start it in advance and bring it with you that night to finish up! You'll then have the option to keep your art or include it in a silent auction.

NEW LEADERSHIP TEAM: Are you interested in getting involved in KVHS?? Come join leadership!! There will be a meeting in Mrs. Lanigan’s room next Monday (April 29) at lunch. In this meeting we will go over the process of getting on the leadership team. If you're on the fence, come see what leadership is all about!!

The International Club is for all international exchange and local students who are interested in learning more about each other's culture. Some of our activities will include mini-language lessons, food tastings, playing international games, appreciating music and art from other cultures, and just having fun socializing in a multicultural environment.

 

VOLLEYBALL NEWS: Congratulations to the JV girls volleyball team for coming in first place in the southern conference with a record of 9 wins and only 1 loss. They head to Regionals this weekend in Fredericton.

PERSON 1: Hey! Have you heard about Neon Knight?

PERSON 2: Yeah!!! I’m super excited!

PERSON 1: What even is Neon Knight? What do I wear?

PERSON 2: Neon knight is a glow in the dark dance happening on April 25 from 7-9:30pm. There will be neon paint and glow sticks provided at the school to decorate yourself for the dance. Also, on Wednesday April 24 at lunch in the mini gym you can bring a white t-shirt to decorate and wear to the dance!

PERSON 1: How do I get tickets for Neon Knight? Can I buy them at the school on the night of the dance? Are they being sold in front of the theatre at lunch?

PERSON 2: NO!!!! They are being sold on cashless schools just like the winter cab tickets were!!

Attention Grade 11 students! If you are interested in Engineering, we have an awesome opportunity for you! Come with us to UNB’s Engineering Day on May 15th. You will take a campus tour, design an engineering project on-site, hear directly from faculty about cutting edge engineering designs, women in engineering, environmental engineering, and more!

Spaces are limited. Please contact Mrs. Price or Mrs. Walsh directly to reserve your spot.

Drumroll please..... our shuttlecock slayers and racquet rockstars left their feathers flying on the court this weekend at regionals! We couldn't be prouder. Congratulations to Noah, Sam Rockwood, Maggie Rockwood, Rachel McLean, Norah Pugsley and Alivia Thibideau on their fantastic performances. Huge congrats goes out to those who smashed their way to Provincials this weekend! Good luck Alivia Thibideau and Norah Pugsley.  Come support these girls as they compete in the provincial championships this Saturday at St. Machs!

FLAG FOOTBALL today at lunch outside on the field.  Bring your lunch, get your friends, and get outside for the first day of play. Anyone interested can come out and give flag football a try.
