Elevate Program Facilitator
Full-time position; 36.25 hours per week;
Term contract effective August 26, 2024 thru July 31, 2025, renewable
Job Description
This position is a non-bargaining
position with a beginning salary of $1538.46 bi-weekly. The term of the contract will be August 26,
2024 (or as soon thereafter as possible) thru July 31, 2025. The contract is renewable, by mutual
agreement, thru June 2026.
The purpose of the Elevate Program is to facilitate the
development of social-emotional skills, interpersonal connections and
relationships, and provide opportunities for skill development while adhering
to a trauma-informed, strength-based program model. The ultimate goal is to
build resiliency and connections, thereby addressing barriers impeding the
progress of students and assisting them in navigating through mental health and
wellness challenges. The Program Facilitator
will be responsible for:
• Delivering a
strengths-based, social-emotional skill development program for 10-15 student
participants
• Working with
the school Education and Support Services Team (ESST) to identify program
participants, set individualized student goals, and monitor progress
• In conjunction
with community partners and stakeholders, creating and managing volunteer
opportunities and mentorships on behalf of Saint John High School
• Ensuring
proper communication with school personnel and ensuring that all program
activity has been approved and supports the identified needs of the students
Reporting to the School Principal, responsibilities include but
are not limited to:
• Providing
in-person group activity sessions to eligible Newcomer Youth to support their
social-emotional wellbeing and skill development
• Participating
in program and activity planning, development and evaluation of all aspects of
program delivery, as appropriate
• Working with
the school ESST to develop plans and set goals for program participants;
• Keeping active
and ongoing communication with school staff, community partners and program
participants;
• Providing
evaluation, updates and data as needed by the principal, district, and partners
regarding opportunities to support program outcomes and the participants’ needs
• Maintaining
knowledge of community resources and initiatives for the purposes of referral
and partnership development, especially related to mental health, settlement,
drug prevention/use, housing, social assistance, employment, education,
physical health, and recreation
