Any Grade 12 students who wants to be a school sponsored candidate for the Loran Award Scholarship – a Scholarship for students who show exceptional character, service and leadership – need to submit a Resume and a Letter of Intent outlining future plans to Guidance by Friday, September 21, 2018.

Attention Crusaders! Clear your schedule next Monday for “Crusaders for a Cure”. This event will kick off Pink Week with fun games on the field, and a delicious BBQ. And bring a glow stick to walk in support of a Cure for Cancer. Admission is by donation. We hope to see you all there!

There will be a meeting for the Me to We club on Friday in Mrs. Pynn’s room , Room 307 in the business wing by the Culinary Tech class. New and returning members are invited to attend this introductory meeting.
Cyber Titan practice will be today at lunch in Room 285. If you are interested in Cyber Security, come join us. Test your skills on Windows 10, Windows Service and Ubunto operating systems.
MUSIC - DRAMA – THEATRE - ART
The first Coffee House of the year will be Wednesday, September 19th. There will be tables set up for you to play all your favorite board games. Feel free to bring one too. Admission will be $5.00 and you will have free food and coffee all night.
Are you a Singer? Poet? If so, sign up to perform at next week’s Coffee House! The sign up sheet is on the Arts Board in the English Wing. The Board game Coffee House is Wednesday, September 19th at 6:30 in the Cafeteria.
Applications to join the Tech Crew are now available from Mr. Dallon or any member of the Crew. These must be returned to Mr. Dallon by Wednesday, September 19th.
There will be a special presentation Period 5 today at 2:30 in Mr. Dalllon’s Art Room for students registered in Visual Art II and Visual Art 120 who are interested in making a portfolio to submit for post-secondary art studies. A guest speaker from the Saint John Art Centre will explain their portfolio development program. Grade 11 and 12 Visual Art Students are welcome to attend Period 5 today.
SPORTS
The Senior Field Hockey Team started their season with a 17 – 0 win over RNS. Kate Griffin recorded the shutout. Ali Scholten led the scoring with 3 goals. Reilly Sullivan, Emma Taylor, Elizabeth Abbate, and Abby Scholten each had two, and Allie Griffin, Kate Lee, Megan Doucette, Rachel Reid, Hannah Fortin, and Jillian Ellis finished off the scoring with one goal each.
This Friday, September 14th and Saturday September 15th KVHS will be hosting a Field Hockey Tournament. KVHS will have 2 Grade 9 teams, a Grade 10 and a combined Grade 11/12 team playing teams from SJHS, Simonds, Rothesay High, Moncton High and Rothesay Netherwood. Games start Friday at 3:30, last game at 8:30. Saturday games start at 9 a.m. last game at 8:00 p.m. Grade 9 team members will be asking your permission to leave class at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, if there are any concerns about any players, please e-mail me. Thank you! Please allow Rebecca Reid to leave class at 3:00 p.m. as she is playing net. Please allow Jillian Ellis and Julia MacPherson to leave at 3:10 as they are umpiring. Thank you!

KVHS is looking for NLS certified lifeguards to help out at the pool while the swim team is practicing every Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:30 at the Simonds pool. The pay is $25.00. If you are interested, see Mr. Rice, asap.
