Information Items:
-It was great to see so many of you here on Thursday evening and Friday morning for Parent Teacher interviews. By working together we will ensure the best educational experience for our children.
-Please find attached a bulletin from Zoe Watson regarding School Closure for Inclement Weather. The document outlines the procedure used for making decisions on those days when the weather is not good. Options include schools being open as usual, school buses running on a delay, schools being closed by Education Centre and schools closing early. Please read the bulletin for all details. A copy of it is being placed on our school website.
-A reminder that any children who arrive late (after 8:05)must sign in in the lobby. Parents who visit the school need to sign in at the office and pick up a visitor’s tag.
-Grade 5 Drama has started! We have 45 or 46 students who auditioned and who all received a role in our upcoming musical production of Sleeping Beauty. District Drama Fest is on April 22 and 23rd at Fundy High School. Our school performance is tentatively planned for Thursday, April 16th at 6:30 for parents. Things can change depending on on the preparedness of the staff.
- You will notice a few additions to our lobby and main hallway. We are attempting to become a more diverse and multicultural school by acknowledging the many different nationalities and cultures of students and families at our school. We have purchased books for our library pertaining to the various cultures. Please let us know if you have anything to add.
HOME AND SCHOOL UPDATE
- Reminder that this weekend is the last weekend before the parade and we need help decorating our circus ring aka float. We will work both Saturday and Sunday at 1pm at the Pierce’s house. Wear old clothes because we need to paint. If you have any vibrant leftover cans of paint – please bring them. Blues, reds, yellows, greens would be ideal. Also bring brushes, paint trays, drop clothes. Staple guns, scissors, tape too. If anyone has extra Christmas present wrap – our "gift" boxes need a facelift.
45 Grade 5 students (and 15 chaperones) will be leading our float and walking. If you are a committee member and have someone in grades K-4 they have the opportunity to ride on the float and wear one the AMAZING foam costume heads. I have attached a picture to give you a peek what they look like. We have 24 heads and matching painted paint suits to go over your snow suit. We need to make assignments now so we can pass along the costume to you on Thursday, Nov. 20th.
Please email Liz Tait at aetait@nb.sympatico.ca  if you and or your child will be riding on the float and which character they are interested in being (first to respond gets the character):
