Information Items:
-Our Fall Fundraiser catalogues went home at the beginning of last week. Please share with your friends and family over the Thanksgiving long weekend. All profits will go directly to the purchase of iPad Minis. We currently have 14 and our goal is to acquire a whole class set of 28. iPads are powerful, versatile tools  that motivate and engage all students.  They come with assistive features (ie. Siri, Dictation, Word Prediction) that have changed the learning landscape for students with special needs.  Feel free to send orders in prior to the 16th if you have finished selling to friends and family.
- Our Off Site Evacuation went well on Wednesday except for getting caught in a downpour on our way back to the school! The children listened well and walked safely to Rothesay Baptist Church where we gathered by class in the gymnasium. The church staff commented on how well behaved and polite our students were. We have now completed our required safety practices - three fire drills, a lockdown practice, and an off site evacuation and are well prepared for an emergency.
-Our ELF (Early Literacy Friends) program has grown to 11 pairings! We are very pleased to have 11 volunteers coming twice a week to provide direct one on one literacy support for grade 2 students.

-  It is hard to believe that it is time for Kindergarten Registration already ( for children starting Kindergarten in September 2015).  To register your child, you will need the following: Proof of age, Medicare card and proof of immunization. We will register each day from 8:00-3:00 and will also take registrations on Wednesday evening October 15th from 6:30 until 8 pm for those who are unable to get into the school during the day. Please share this information with friends and neighbours who may not currently have children in school. We will be registering all those in our current serving area including those who will be rezoned for the new Qusipamsis Elementary School.  We have boundary maps showing school zone by street.
-Our school motto “Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow” has been painted in our school colours above the entrance to the gym. It will serve as a great conversation piece as children wait for their turn in the gym.  This will continue to support our School Improvement Plan, Ends Policy #1 on building and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Our Home and School Committee is looking for musicians to lead Tune-Tastic afterschool programs for interested students. If you know a drummer or a pianist who would be interested in leading such a program, please contact Liz Tait @ aetait@nb.sympatico.ca
- For more details and to submit your name suggestions for the new elementary school in Quispamsis, please visit the Anglophone South website at http://web1.nbed.nb.ca/sites/ASD-S/Pages/welcome.aspx. The deadline for submitting your suggestions is October 15th.
