Start-Up Information for Grades 10, 11, and 12 Students

Good afternoon parents and guardians of our grade 10, 11, and 12 students at RHS.  Here are some important announcements regarding our first days of school.

We want to first let you know that you can review this information on our school web site located at rhsroyals.nbed.nb.ca

As these last days of summer come to a close, we want to welcome back our Royals as we look forward to their arrival and the start of another school year.

We want to let you know that Wednesday, September 4th is the first day of school for our students in grades 10, 11, and 12.  Tuesday, September 3rd is a day reserved only for our grade 9 students and visiting international students.

Upon their arrival on Wednesday, students must locate their advisory room number using the printed posters outside the office and cafeteria. We will begin the day at 8:30 AM with students going to advisory so that they can be issued their schedule of classes for the day. Students must follow this schedule.

Our goal for our first days of school will be to help students settle in quickly to the academic year.

With our efforts in providing schedules last school year, we are confident that most students will have complete and accurate schedules. If a student does not have a complete schedule, he or she must report to the guidance office to meet with a guidance counsellor or administrator during the period in which he or she is not currently scheduled for any class. This is so we can complete schedules as soon as possible.

Students are also permitted to request a course change using the form that is available from their advisor. All course change request forms are due by 4:00 PM on Friday, September 6th. Our aim is to review all requests by the end of the day on Monday, September 9th. Additional information is available on the course change request form. Please note: we will not be available to meet to complete any course schedule changes prior to Wednesday, September 4th.

Please note that the bus routes can be obtained through our district website by clicking on the School & Bus Locator button.

We also want to let you know that many extracurricular teams and activities are beginning with try-outs during our first day with students on Wednesday. Some have already begun. Please ensure your son or daughter checks the school web site and our Facebook page for up to date information on these try-outs.

We also ask that you regularly check the school web site and Facebook page for other important updates and information. We hope you find this information useful and timely.

We look forward to what we hope will be another great school year.
