On
June 6 at 6:30 pm, we will be having a Spring Concert. Highlights of the
evening will include several grade 5 students performing their own
original compositions, and accompanied in some cases by Lisa McLaggan of Tomato
Tomato. Admission is by donation to support the purchase of risers for the
music department. We hope that there will be a great turnout to show support
for these young musicians who deserve an audience for their wonderful new
songs!

We
have had a couple of incidents where students are bringing electronics to school
and then they have been damaged.  I will
say it again that electronics and personal items should stay at home.  Firstly, we do not have lockers.  Secondly, teachers, bus drivers and school
administrators can not spend valuable time investigating incidents where
personal items like this go missing or somehow they get damaged.

        If you have secured
your sitter / afterschool childcare for next year, please communicate it to the
office as soon as you can.  We need to know specifically if they are
staying here at the school with River Valley Preschool or at another off site
babysitter or childcare facility which involves bussing.   You can
get the paperwork all filled out ahead of time and this helps on the first day
of school.

Newsletters will go out on Monday.  Keep an eye out.

There has been much information in the news the last
several weeks regarding the measles outbreak at Kennebecasis Valley High
School. Confirmed cases in ASD-S have been related only to Kennebecasis Valley
High School, with no confirmed cases in our other schools at this time. KVHS
and the District have been working closely with Public Health to ensure
families and students of KVHS are kept informed. We thank those families for
their patience, as there has been a large volume of information directed to them
recently.  If information needs to be
provided to other ASD-S families, this will come from your child’s school via
email or the voice messaging system. For this reason, please ensure you have
provided your up-to-date contact information with the school.

The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield is part of the
ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge.
Tomorrow evening is the Kickoff event at RV Soccer Field.  Festivities will be moved inside if it
rains.  Please
bring your friends & neighbours. The
more participants we have the more minutes  we can track!
Let’s get moving Blue Fox Families.
