Please note:
Transportation items to note.
District
Transportation requires consistency when it comes to bus travel and it is
important that bus drivers are confident in their routes and the students they
are transporting.
- We are not
permitted to put 3-5 students on earlier buses.
- we are not
permitted to put students on buses based on parent notes indicating a change
that day. They can not travel to
friend's or grandparent's house based on notes.
A principal is able to issue a one time emergency slip to a busdriver
but it does need to be one time and the principal must know the reason.
- when there
is a change in their plan, long-term, parents need to contact the office and
fill out a new alternate transportation form which voids the other one.

Extracurricular activities like Mad Science or Estey art creations require
pickup. They are an extracurricular
activity that is merely housed at the
school. We can not change bus times or situations for such things. K-2 students can not be placed on later
busses either.
- please do
not call the school a a few minutes before dismissal as it is possible that we
are not able to get the message to the teacher and student in time. Please send a note to the teacher if you are
picking up your child.
- Parents
dropping off their students need to watch for educators who are wearing safety
vests before they let them out of the cars.
Teachers do not come on duty until 8:05.
Buses in the yard are waiting until they see the safety vests before
letting students off so I have to ask parents to be aware of this as well.
While this
may have not been the case in the past, I do hope you will understand my need
to enforce these policies as there are 350 students who need to get safely to
and from school. Thank you
