The Music Man: If You Miss This Musical, “Ya Got Trouble”!

            “Now, friends, lemme tell you what I mean”- Saint Malachy’s Memorial High School will be performing the hit Broadway musical “The Music Man” this year for their annual production. The show opens on Thursday, March. 31st and the production will continue on through to Saturday, April. 2nd. Evening shows begin at 7:30pm, with the Saturday matinée beginning at 2pm. The musical will take place in the Saint Malachy’s auditorium, and tickets are available for purchase at the high school- in the administrative office, at the door and also at the Jean Coutu Pharmacy in Millidgeville for $15.
 
            “The Music Man”, written by Meredith Wilson, is a romantic comedy that follows the story of a clever con man named Harold Hill. As part of his latest scheme, Harold poses as a musician and boys’ band leader. When he begins falling head over heels for a respectable woman named Marian, his grand plan to scam the naïve townsfolk of Iowa is jeopardized.
 
            Over forty exceptionally gifted students will be participating in Saint Malachy’s adaptation of “The Music Man”. This year’s production marks the tenth year anniversary of the high school’s last performance of the well renowned musical in 2006. Many hours of preparation and rehearsal have gone into perfecting this year’s musical, which will be sure to delight audiences.
