Item Retrieval

May 1, 2020

Dear families,

We in accordance with Covid-19 restrictions and precautions and the NB Department of Health we have put together a process for item retrieval from our school.

While the schools will remain closed for the rest of the school year, the following procedures will be in place to allow the students’ parents or guardians to recover their personal effects and assistive technology tools beginning the week of May 4, 2020.  It is critical that we respect the instructions of the Chief Medical Health Officer of NB.  I have outlined below some general guidelines that will be followed.

  1. The schedule will be as follows:
    • Tuesday May 5 –         10:00 am – 3:00 pm
    • Wednesday May 6 –      4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
  2. We will not have appointments due to the small numbers at our school but we will respect general social distancing norms.  As such this will be the process:
    • Before entering the school everyone will be asked to read and respect the self-monitoring sign posted in front of the school.  A copy is attached to this email and you are asked to read it before visiting.
    • We will allow 1 family per class in the school at a time.
    • If a line forms there will be an area in front of the school marked by pylons indicating a 2 meter distance.  We ask you to respect this social distancing at all times.
    • All people entering the school must proceed to a designated hand washing area as ordered by the chief medical officer.
    • Supplies will be pre-bagged for you which means each visit should be very short.  We ask you not to use this time to socialize or meet with the teacher.
    • If you have more than 1 child, all your items will be placed outside the classroom of youroldest child.
    • Please limit your group to 1 adult/family and the child only if absolutely necessary.
  3. Face masks are not required but they are always encouraged if possible.
  4. Some families will be contacted if there is assistive technology available for them.  These will be in the front lobby labelled and disinfected for you.
  5. Please do not return any school items such as textbooks at this time.
  6. Teachers, Educational Assistants and Administrative Assistants will be there to assist with this process.
  7. If belongings are being picked up by a person other than the student or their family member, there needs to be communication with administration. No items will be sent with a non-family member without previous approval.

If you have any questions please reply to this email or on Monday morning there will be staff in the school at 659-3943.

Important Home Lesson Information

April 14, 2020

Dear families,

Here is some information to help your child stay connected to his/her teacher:

Mr. Gorman:

I have sent home a calendar of daily physical activities which I have attached to this email.  Also, some of the teachers have added links to provincial PE pages.  It is probably easier for me to send information through the homeroom teacher to keep things less confusing for parents. A minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity per day is recommended.  Please contact me by email at if you require further help planning activities.

Here are a few recommendations I have that will make a very positive difference for your entire family during quarantine:

·       Have a consistent and reasonable bedtime as well as a consistent wakeup time for your child. It is important that they stay disciplined and approach each day well rested to be at their best.

·       Set a daily schedule.  Some items that should be in your schedule include breakfast time, changing into daytime clothes, doing schoolwork, having age appropriate home chores and physical activity.  A good schedule will still leave plenty of free playtime as this is also important.

Don’t forget that you can also find information about the school from our web site: and please follow us on Twitter @FundyShores.

Mrs. McPherson:

Mrs. McPherson has built a Facebook page where she is sharing her weekly lessons. She is also sending work through email.  If you need to make contact her email is

Mrs. McDade:

Mrs. McDade is handling the duel role of Resource and Guidance during this situation.  She has reached out to a number of families offering additional educational support as needed.  She can also help with smaller guidance concerns.  Here email is but if this is in regards to a guidance request please make a request through the information below.  If it is an academic concern it’s best if you start by expressing a concern with the teacher who will bring your concern to our weekly school wide services meeting that myself and all teachers have online with district support.
