Here are your morning announcements for Thursday Feb. 2nd, 2023.
*The announcements posted today reflect those which were read this morning. Please be aware that changes could occur during the day (cancellations, etc.) and we might not be able to amend them.
First Half- Red, Orange, Black and White classrooms will report to cafeteria during the first half of lunch. The grade level groups from blue, purple, yellow and green teams will report to target locations using the Courtenay Bay Doors.
Second Half- Blue, Purple, yellow and green will report to cafeteria and grade level groups from Red, Orange, Black and white will be in their assigned areas using the back doors near the gym.
Target Locations: This week the grade 8 groups will report to the gym grade 6 groups will report to the courtyard and grade 7 groups will report to the field.
Rotation Flow Chart: Gym --> Courtyard --> Field --> Gym
Reminders:
Our grade 8 classes will be eating in their homerooms during their designated eating time this week. Staff, please follow the duty rotation sent out.
Important Info: Friday is yellow shirt day in recognition of Suicide Awareness and Prevention.
Clubs & Activities: Only announce today and tomorrow’s clubs
Monday
Dungeons & Dragons Club: We will meet on Mondays in Mrs. Sabin’s room 230. Don’t forget to bring your lunch
There will be a new club in the Computer lab at lunch for students interested in Animation!
Band – Trumpets
Tuesday
Activities Club – Room 237, Bring your lunch and stay for the hour.
Culture Club: Come to culture club today, don’t forget your lunch.
Sports Club: in Mr. Walls classroom today at lunch during both halves.
Yearbook – Room 325
Band – Flutes, Clarinets, Saxes, Baritone and Basses
Wednesday
3D Print Club – No 3D print club this week as grade 8 are eating in their class.
Renaissance Team: Will be meeting Wednesday the second half of lunch in room 130. All staff and students interested in supporting the culture and climate at Bayside can attend.
Art Club – All lunch, bring your lunch!
Choir – At lunch in the music room. New members welcome!
Band – Full Band Rehearsal after school
Thursday
GSA –Since it is the first Thursday of the month, this week’s meeting will be social time. All are welcome!

Woodworking Club
Any Students interested in participating in this year’s Heritage Fair are asked to meet for a 15-minute meeting in Mr. Robinson’s room on Thursday at the start of lunch. That’s room 334, if you are interested in the Heritage Fair!
Friday
Drama Club: Mme. Creamer’s room (132) at noon hour, bring your lunch and stay for the hour!
Tech Crew – Cancelled for today.

February is Black History Month. Canadians celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black Canadians and their communities who, throughout history, have done so much to make Canada the culturally diverse, compassionate, and prosperous nation it is today.
Thurs Feb 2:
Canada’s annual Black History Month campaign encourages all Canadians to learn more about Black history in Canada. This month, we will highlight some significant events and people that have contributed to the story of Black Canadians and their communities, and the impact that they have made to all parts of society.
Between 1749 and 1782, most of the Black Canadians and their communities brought to Nova Scotia were enslaved by English or American settlers. In 1750, there were about 400 enslaved and 17 free Black people
