Here are your morning announcements for April 6th ,2022.   


*The announcements posted today reflect those which were read this morning. Please be aware that changes could occur during the day (cancellations, etc.) and we might not be able to amend them.  


First Half- Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green classrooms will report to homerooms during the first half of lunch. The grade level groups from blue, purple, black and white teams will report to target locations using the Courtenay Bay Doors.    


Second Half- Blue, Purple, Black, and White will report to their homerooms and grade level groups from Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green will be in their assigned areas using the back doors near the gym. 


Grade 8s will report to the cafeteria for the half they eat.  


 

Target Locations: This week the grade 8 groups will report to the paved area near Courtenay Avenue, grade 6 groups will report to the gym and grade 7 groups will report to the compound.

GSA:  


GSA will meet today at lunch in the auditorium. Everyone is welcome to join. We will be finishing up our artwork from last week, so bring your markers or pencil crayons again. 


 

Youth Group: 


Youth Group-meets again next Tuesday at lunch.  


 

Maker Club 


 We will meet again today from 3-4:30. Drives must be here by 4:30!! Please sign up in room 218 as we are limited to 20 participants.   


Art Club 


If you would like to join the art club, please give Mr. Long and/or Ms. McDermott a creative one paragraph explanation why you should be in the art club, before this Friday, April 8th. We will let you know if you have been selected to join next Monday.   


Ukraine Fundraiser 


Tomorrow will be blue and yellow day to spread awareness of the humanitarian crisis due to the war in Ukraine. Students from Mr. Long’s class will be collecting donations for the Ukrainian Red Cross Relief Fund during the first and second half of lunch. If Bayside raises $100 Mr. Long has agreed to shave his face to a mustache and if Bayside raises $200, he will have his hair cut into a mullet!  






BAYSIDE ATHLETICS  


VOLLEYBALL–    


Athletic fees are to be passed in to Mr Allaby this week. Athletic fees MUST be paid before receiving warm up jerseys . 


Jv boys and girls is $50  


Varsity Girls is $65  


Varsity Boys is $80  

 

                                             Game recaps  


Varsity Boys improve to 2-0 after defeating MNS 5-0 outscoring them 115-54. Keenan led the team in serves (18/19) and also led serve receive. Game MVPs were Jayden L for his  setting, backrow saves and leadership on the court. The other MVP was Nathan S who went 100% on the line going 13 for 13, and led the team in blocks and attacks 


JV Boys played amazing against FH with opportunities to take 4 of the 5 sets but walked away short in a 3-2 loss. 


JV Boys – , practice wednesday . 


Varsity boys    practice thursday. Remind your parents there will be a meeting after practice. 


JV girls  first home game is this Thursday vs Forest Hills. 


Varsity girls  practice wednesday, game thursday  @ MNS.   


Ensure drives are on time after practice.  


Water for sale in the gym (only after PE) $1 


RUN CLUB  Friday 3:15 - 4:15  we will meet at the gym, be prepared to go outside. 


CHEERLEADING- Practice Thursday and Friday after school. 


Basketball-  


JV boys basketball will practice Thursday from 330-5 pm at Bayview Elementary School. 


Varsity Girls basketball will practice Friday 330-5 pm at Bayview Elementary School. 


Varsity boys basketball will practice today 330-5 pm at Bayview Elementary School.
