​here are your morning announcements for Thursday May 11,  2023. 

*The announcements posted today reflect those which were read this morning. Please be aware that changes could occur during the day (cancellations, etc.) and we might not be able to amend them.  

First Half- Yellow, Green, Black and White classrooms will report to cafeteria during the first half of lunch. The grade level groups from blue, purple, red and orange teams will report to target locations using the Courtenay Bay Doors.    

Second Half- blue, purple, red and orange will report to cafeteria and grade level groups from Yellow, Green, Black and White will be in their assigned areas using the back doors near the gym. 

Target Locations: This week the grade 8 groups will report to the Courtyard, grade 6 groups will report to the field and grade 7 groups will report to the gym. 

Rotation Flow Chart: Gym --> Courtyard --> Field --> Gym 

Our grade 7 classes will be eating in their homerooms during their designated eating time this week.  Staff, please follow the duty rotation sent out. 

Just a reminder if you have forgotten or need lunch, we have free lunches served from the library every day. Please go to the library at the beginning of your eating time to pick up your lunch.  

Clubs & Activities: Only announce today and tomorrow’s clubs  

Monday 

  • Dungeons & Dragons Club: We will meet in Mr. Carpenter’s room 114. Don’t forget to bring your lunch. 

  • Animation club is today  

  • Band – Trumpets Today at lunch  

  • Gardening club today in room 312. New members welcome!  

Tuesday 

  • GIRL TALK is in Room 335 today during the first half of lunch with Ms. Nickerson. This group is for Grade 8 girls who want to join a community of girls who support girls. 

  • Activities Club – Room 237. Bring your lunch and stay for the hour. 

  • Culture Club: Cancelled this week because grade 6 students are eating in their classrooms. 

  • Sports Club: Cancelled Tuesday May 9th because grade 7s are eating lunch in their homerooms. 

  • Band- Woodwinds, Baritone and Bass sectional 

  • Fitness Club – only second half of lunch today 

  • Garden club members, please remember to water your trays. 

  • Drama Club – could you please come to Mme. Creamer’s room at the start of lunch for a quick 5-minute meeting, thank you! 

 

 

Wednesday 

  • 3D Print Club – No 3D print club this week.  Stay tuned next week for a new club starting alongside 3D print club 

  • Renaissance Team: will be meeting in room 130 (Mme. Ferrar’s room) during the second half of lunch today.  

  • Art Club – Cancelled this week as grade 7’s are eating in their classrooms.   

  • Choir –  practice  at lunch.  

  • Band – Full Band Rehearsal after school 

  • Garden club members, please remember to water your trays. 

  • GSA Leaders – We will have a meeting in the Level-Up Room at lunch.  

 

 

Thursday 

 

  • GSA – We will be looking at our GSA library. We will also be talking about May 17 and how we will commemorate the day. Remember, if you decide to come, you stay for the whole hour. 

  • Band – Percussion   

  • Woodworking Club  

  • Garden club members, please remember to water your trays. 

 

 

Friday 

  • (Friday, May 19th) If you are interested in being on the Grade 8 Moving Up Dance Decorating Committee, please meet today in Ms. Nickerson’s room, Room 335, during the first half of lunch. All grades and staff are welcome to attend. 

  • Drama Club: Meet in Mme. Creamer’s room at lunch and stay for the hour. 

  • There will be a GSA Leaders’ meeting in the Level Up Room at lunch 

  • Tech Crew – meet in the music room at lunch 

  • The computer lab will be open  

  • Garden club members, please remember to water your trays. 

Additional Activity Notices:  

BAYSIDE ATHLETICS: 

Cheerleading:  

Practice Thursday after school from 3-5:30 and Friday from 3-5. 

Volleyball:  

JV Girls: Home game today Wednesday May 10th against PCS. Practice is cancelled on Thursday, May 11th 

Varsity Girls: The team is headed to Moncton this weekend to play in the Jack Lawson tournament. Good luck girls! 

Varsity Boys’ Volleyball –   Practice today Wed. May 10th 4:30 – 6 and a new practice, Friday May 12th 4:30 to 6 pm. 

JV Boys’ –  Congratulations to the team for winning 3-2 against SDC. They will be in the finals, Thursday, May 11th at Bayside. Good luck Broncos!   

 

Co-Ed Flag football: 

Weekly practices Sundays 3-5 pm at Bayside. Practice this Sunday May 14th. 

 

TALENT SHOW!  Do you have an entertaining talent? Do you sing, play an instrument, dance, do magic or comedy.  Ms. Lucy is organizing a talent show for early June.  Auditions will be held in a few weeks. Start planning and practicing now!!!  Let’s show everyone how talented Bayside Students are!!!

Tuesday: Guess Who?  Last week was Ms. McDermott, who was identified by Ms. Hare. This week’s staff member hails from Baie St-Anne, used to teach grade 1, and is going to the Shania Twain concert in Moncton next month. Who are they? 

 

Wednesday: Fun fact of the week... Did you it’s illegal to sell a haunted house in New York without telling the buyer first? 

Thursday: The joke of the week is: What did the seed say to the flower? ….OK, Bloomer! ​
