​I’m _________________and here are your morning announcements for Tuesday, April 11th, 2023. 

*The announcements posted today reflect those which were read this morning. Please be aware that changes could occur during the day (cancellations, etc.) and we might not be able to amend them.  

First Half- Yellow, Green, Black and White classrooms will report to cafeteria during the first half of lunch. The grade level groups from blue, purple, red and orange teams will report to target locations using the Courtenay Bay Doors.    

Second Half- blue, purple, red and orange will report to cafeteria and grade level groups from Yellow, Green, Black and White will be in their assigned areas using the back doors near the gym. 

Target Locations: This week the grade 8 groups will report to the gym,  grade 6 groups will report to the courtyard , and grade 7 groups will report to the field/Courtney Ave side of the school .  

Rotation Flow Chart: Gym --> Courtyard --> Field --> Gym 

Our grade 8 classes will be eating in their homerooms during their designated eating time this week.  Staff, please follow the duty rotation sent out. 

Clubs & Activities: Only announce today and tomorrow’s clubs  

Monday 

  •  

  • Dungeons & Dragons Club: We will meet in Mr. Carpenter’s room 114. Don’t forget to bring your lunch. 

  • There will be a new club in the computer lab at lunch for students interested in Animation!   

  • Band – Trumpets Today at lunch – Tuesday's band sectional is cancelled for this week. 

  • Gardening club today in room 312. New members welcome! Members, please remember to water your trays! 

Tuesday 

  • GIRL TALK begins today in Room 335 with Ms. Nickerson. This group is for Grade 8 girls who want to join a community of girls who support girls. Come today during the first half of lunch to learn more about this group. 

  • Activities Club – Cancelled Tuesday April 11. See you next week 

  • Culture Club: Culture will meet today in Mrs. Welch’s classroom 232! Don’t forget your lunch! 

  • Sports Club: Today both halves of lunch. However, you must come during the start of lunch in order to be allowed to take part. You will not be allowed to pop in once it has started.  

  • Band- Woodwinds, Baritone and Bass sectional Cancelled for Today 

  • CHOIR – Soprano practice Today at lunch. 

  • Fitness Club – There is a sign-up sheet on the fitness room door to book your spot on Tuesdays, all lunch. This is limited to only 10 students per week.  

  • Heritage Fair: Please note that there will be an important meeting for all chosen participants tomorrow, Wednesday, at noon in Mr. Robinson’s room 

  • Garden club members, please remember to water your trays! 

Wednesday 

  • 3D Print Club – No 3D print club this week.  Stay tuned next week for a new club starting alongside 3D print club 

  • Renaissance Team: will be meeting in room 130 (Mme. Ferrar’s room) during the second half of lunch today. We will also be taking our yearbook photo, so be sure to attend. 

  • Art Club – Bring your lunch! 

  • Choir – Harmony parts practice Wednesday at lunch.  

  • Band – Full Band Rehearsal after school 

  • Heritage Fair: There is an important meeting today for all chosen participants for the Heritage Fair. This will be at the start of lunch in Mr. Robinson’s room. If you have been chosen to participate in the Heritage fair it is mandatory to attend.  

Thursday 

  • GSA – It is the first Friday of April, so that means it’s social time for GSA today. Everyone is welcome. Remember, if you decide to come, you stay for the whole hour. 

  • Band – Percussion  

  • Woodworking Club  

  • Garden club members, please remember to water your trays! 

Friday 

  • Drama Club: 

  • Tech Crew – meet in the music room at lunch 

  • The computer lab will be open  

Additional Activity Notices:  

Friday March 31st All members of the Rennaissance team please see Mrs. Legere in room 224 at lunch first half.  

 

BAYSIDE ATHLETICS: 

Cheerleading:  

Congratulations to the team for placing first in their division over the weekend! They also won the award for best jumps!  

Practice Thursday after school from 3-5:30.  

Volleyball:  

JV Girls: Practice today (Tuesday) 3-4:30pm & home game tomorrow (Wednesday) against PES.  

Varsity Girls: Practice Tuesday 4:30-6. Game at River Valley Middle School Wednesday. 

Varsity Boys’ Volleyball – home game today (Tues) against RVMS and practice Wed. 3-5pm. 

JV Boys’  –  game today (Tuesday), April 11th at PCS. Remember to get a ride there after school. Practice Thursday from 3-5pm. 

Co-Ed Flag football:  

Please note change of time for practice! Weekly practices Sundays 3-5 pm at Bayside. Practice this Sunday April 16th.

Tuesday: Guess Who?  Ms. Thompson was last week’s guess who. This week’s staff member enjoys watching sports, loves weightlifting, has a personal trainer, and is baseball season ticket holder. They also love reading, especially Marvel comics, and have read 14 books since January. They have a dog named Einstein and saw the first Avengers movie 10 times. Who are they?
