Anglophone South School District invites Middle School students from across the district to create original artworks for the Holiday Season Card Design challenge.
The goal is two-fold:  to provide students with a ‘beyond the classroom’ opportunity to imagine and create an original design, and to produce a card, designed by one of our own students and chosen to represent Anglophone South School District, that will be sent to colleagues, other educators, and partners in education.
One card design will be chosen by a selection committee with preference given to images that are considerate of our pluralistic society.  Universal, inclusive themes relating to the holiday season are recommended.
The creator of the chosen design will receive a framed copy of their work, along with a few cards to send to their own family and friends.

Card Design Specifications:
• Students to use HALF of an 8.5”x11” piece of white paper (= 8.5”x5.5”) to create their design.
• The design should be very colourful and only two-dimensional.
• The orientation of the design can be either portrait or landscape.

Please Include:
• Student’s name, school and grade level labeled clearly on the back of each artwork
• A completed release form with each submission (please contact Heidi.Stoddart@nbed.nb.ca for an electronic version of release form)
• Please label submissions carefully as it is our intent to return all artwork to students
Deadline:
• All design submissions must be received at the Saint John Education Centre by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2013.
Send Submissions to:
• Hugh Kennedy, Saint John Education Centre
