This
is a message for all Raiders and their families to keep up to date, especially
with another short four-day week! As always, please check out our website at
rvms.nbed.nb.ca or follow us on Twitter @RVMiddle for the latest information.
School Clothing: If you were looking
to purchase some RVMS swag for the holidays, for you, your kids, your
husband/wife, your dog, etc. our new school store is having a sale! This code
is valid for anyone to use, so tell your friends! We have now surpassed the
minimum $1000.00 in orders so any purchase made will result in a 10% kickback
to the school for our students! https://rivervalleymiddleschool.entripyshops.com/
From
November 5 - November 30th you can receive 20% your order with the promo code
FRIDAY (and if you spend over $75 your shipping is free). Happy shopping!
Hot
Lunch: Mr. Vincent’s team of student
chefs continue to provide us with some hot lunch options. This week we have
options available on three days. Supplies are limited so we suggest students
also bring some “back up” snacks in the event that supplies run
out.
Tuesday, Nov 19 – Chicken Fajitas $2
Wednesday, Nov 20 – Chicken Stir Fry & Rice Bowl $3
Thursday, Nov 21 – Pizza by the slice $1
Ski Club: Ski Club to Poley Mountain will be running again this year. The
forms and deposit are now open to students in Grade 7 & 8 online through
Cashless Schools – a $25 deposit AND signed forms must be submitted by Thursday,
November 21st. Any remaining spots will then be offered to our Gr. 6
students on November 25th.
Report Cards: Report Cards will be
going home today, November 18 with Parent/Teacher meetings on Nov 21
5:00pm-8:00pm and November 22 from 9:00-11:00am. Families
may still call to book an appointment, although spots are now limited. Please
be prepared to tell the Admin Assistant which of your child’s teachers you
would like to meet with as they will be not necessarily be meeting together.
Winter Expectations: Finally, as it is Canada, and winter is coming, we expect
students to be dressed properly. Raiders must be prepared to be outside in
weather as cold as -15 C and should have long pants and a coat or hoodie on at
all times, when outside, between Nov 1 and March 30.
Diversity & Respect Week is November 18-22: All children in our schools
should feel safe and have the opportunity to learn in a culture of respect.
Inclusiveness is fundamental to education. Diversity & Respect Week
replaces Bullying Awareness Week promoted in New Brunswick schools since 2012. We
will be talking a great deal about these topics throughout the week in
RaiderTime and other opportunities for discussion.
