RVMS Babysitting Handout.pdf
Good morning! We have a few messages for all Raiders and
their families.
Our students have settled into the regular school routines
and we are all hard at work preparing for the first Report Cards which go home
next month. The year is flying by!
A few important items:
1. We are struggling with some students who continue to be physically
aggressive with each other. We want to remind all Raiders and their families
that we do not accept this behaviour. Raiders always respect the personal space
of others. They must also respect and understand that there is no such thing as
“play fighting” or “joking around”. We
do not hit, poke, grab or kick. We do not seek to embarrass or humiliate each
other by trying to touch or grab private areas. This is always unacceptable behaviour
regardless of the intent.
Please review this expectation with your child as we will
continue to reinforce this expectation at school.
2. Regular hours of school are 8:40-3:10. Many Raiders can
earn the privilege of leaving early or attending an ASAP activity. They are
expected to be in regular attendance until 3:10 if required. This may mean that
they need to attend “Workroom” for lost or missing assignments, unsigned
homework or tests, or simply because they missed time and need to catch up on their
schoolwork. Please plan for your child to be able to attend school until the
end of the school day (3:10) if necessary.
3. We are still looking for a few Student Fees to be paid.
Please check Cashless Schools and pay your school fees if you have not already
done so.
4. We are offering a babysitting course at RVMS. Please see
the attached flyer and register on the website indicated if you are interested.
5. Our fist dance of the year is set for next week, Thursday,
October 24 from 6-8 pm. We do not wear Halloween Costumes during the
regular school day at RVMS, but school appropriate costumes are welcome at the
dance. The cost is $5 and indoor shoes
are required and must be with the child at the door.
6. Forks and spoons are in short supply at RVMS. Please send
these items with your child if they require them at lunch. We do not stock
these items and many students have had an interesting time eating Kraft Dinner
without them!
7. Picture Retake day is next Monday, October 21. All
students who returned their original proof requesting a retake, and any
students absent on the first picture day, are eligible to have their picture
taken.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate
to contact me at Trudy.McGrath@nbed.nb.ca.
