Apply Early. It takes many weeks for CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION to prepare your Student Study Visa.

    • You cannot get a Student Study Visa until you have an “Official Letter of Acceptance” from School District 8.
    • You must have an address in School District 8 for your child to go to school. You can send your application while you look for a home. School District 8 will send you an “Official Letter of Acceptance” for District 8. Your child will be assigned to a school when you have a New Brunswick address.
    • We do not accept applications by email. Applications must be signed.
    • Parents, legal guardians or brokers can apply to School District 8. District 8 staff will talk to, or mail information to one contact person for each student.
    • Download, print, complete and sign the application form on this website.

If you need a Student Study Visa send all the following by mail:

      • Signed application form
      • Photocopy of student passport (proof of age)
      • Photocopy of immunization records and medical insurance
      • Photocopy of student records (report card)

If you are a parent with a study permit or a work permit, please

        • Contact School District 8 to enroll your child in school
        • Make sure your children have a valid passport and a study permit

After 14 days, Student Study Visa applicants will receive an “Official Letter of Acceptance” if all the required documents are received and the student is accepted.

The student will be enrolled in a specific school only if the applicant has an address in School District 8. Students who don’t have an address in District 8 when they apply will be placed in a specific school after they arrive.
