​Good afternoon! Today is Thursday, October 21 and this is a message for all Raiders and their families.

1. Deadline to return retake picture orders is tomorrow, Friday, Oct 22. After this date, there is a late fee and families will have to contact Photography Flewwelling directly to order.

2. Friday is Flannel Day at RVMS…get out your coziest flannel or plaid to celebrate fall!

3. Speaking of fall, winter is coming and we have been reminding students to come prepared for outdoor classes and activities. All students must have a hoodie or jacket beginning Nov 1st.

4. The school day begins at 8:40. Please ensure your child is at school on time and help us promote this very important employability skill!

5. We are planning an activity block on Friday, October 29. Students are encouraged to wear orange and black that day and we will have a school-wide Bingo. Students may bring treats to share with their classmates but these must be individually pre-packaged.

6. Please take time to check out our website. You can find teacher e-mails (About US tab), purchase school clothing (Raider Clothing tab), record your child’s absences (School Messenger link on right side of page) and check up on important dates etc.

7. The next Middle Level sports season is Badminton. This will start up soon. Students must be double vaccinated to try out and to participate. If your child is eligible and interested, please encourage them to listen to daily announcements for more information.

8. Finally, as we continue to develop independence and responsibility skills with our students, please consider not bringing them items they forget. The best way for students to learn is to experience the consequences of not having what they need. If they can rely on parents to bring books, gym clothes, water bottles to school, they are unlikely to learn to be responsible for these things.

We continue to run our interim schedule but are working with the school district to safely bring back After School Activity Period…fingers crossed that will happen soon!
