Early Learning and Child Care Facility License Renewal Process

On a yearly basis, Early Learning and Childcare Facilities must undergo an annual inspection in order to be granted a Renewal License.  In order to prepare the necessary documentation you will be sent a reminder 120 days in advance of the date of your license expiry date.  Required documentation must be received by licensing staff 90 days prior to expiry.   An Early Learning and Childcare Facility Inspector will complete the annual inspection following receipt of the required documentation.  Fire and Health inspectors must also provide a recommendation for renewal. The following steps will assist you in preparation for your annual inspection.

 

 

 

 

Step 1

The following documents should be reviewed in order to be familiar with your legal requirements and the curriculum expectations.

Step 2

The following forms and documents must be fully completed in order for the Application for Renewal to be processed.
  • Application to Renew a Licence ELCC or
  • Application to Renew a Licence ELC Home

The renewal application package will be sent to you 120 days in advance of its due date.

Step 3

Submit the completed Application and all required documentation to  Early Childhood Services licensing staff  90 days prior to the expiry of your licence. 
The renewal fee must be included with the Application for Renewal. Cheques should be payable to the Minister of Finance.
