Parent School Support Committee (PSSC) Elections

Hello parents and community members! McAdam High School is having our annual Parent School Support Committee (PSSC) elections next Monday, September 18th starting at 6:30 p.m. If you are a parent of a student at MHS and are interested in being a part of the school's PSSC, please attend this function as we will be having parents who are in attendance vote on at least two vacant positions and possibly three. Votes will be taken by secret ballot.

Joining the PSSC is a great way for a parent or community member to develop new skills, utilize leadership skills, have networking opportunities and be collaborate with the School Principal and staff to ensure the best possible learning opportunities and environment for students of MHS. As well, if you are a member of our community but do not currently have a child at MHS, you may still potentially be able to be appointed to the PSSC by the parent members of the PSSC.

Some responsibilities of PSSC members include establishing partnerships with the community, encouraging family involvement in the school, facilitating community use of the school, helping to maintain and ensure a positive student climate within the school, focusing on the needs of all students in the school and improving school property.

For those interested, please come to MHS next Monday for these elections. Or if you have any questions about this information please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. Bruce Van Stone. Principal of McAdam High School. 784-6829.
