​Only two weeks of school left! Where did the time go. The children seemed so small when they started grade 1 and they have grown so much since September. 

We are still trying to do some regular school work (even if it is a little challenging). Maintaining a routine is helpful for the children as they feel secure when they know what comes next. We will be doing some fun math work to review some concepts from the year, mostly addition and subtraction but also numbers to 100 using different math manipulatives.

We'll be doing some writing to complete our year as well as, of course, some fun school-wide activities. 

On Tuesday, our whole school will be headed to Green Hill Lake for the day. We will leave by bus at 8:30 (don't be late :)) and will return at 1:30. Please be sure to pack lots of snacks and a lunch with a water bottle for your child. Also, a bathing suit, towel, plastic bag for the wet stuff, sunscreen and bug spray to ward off those pesky insects. Let's hope for a beautiful, sunny day to make the most of it. 

I'm sure that the children have told you that we are counting down the days until the end of school with a special activity that we find in the day's balloon. We get to pop a balloon every morning to find out what is special about that day. Unfortunately, today, we were supposed to read outside and the skies opened up and let out the rain. I can't wait for them to see what's in store for next week.

Coming up, we will have our K-2 water day on June 19. The stations are being run by the 3-5 students and I'm sure a great time will be had by all. 

Our Colour Splash Dash will be held on Saturday, June 16 starting at 8:30 for registration. This promises to be a really fun fundraiser for McAdam Avenue School. I hope to see many of you there.
