Week at a Glance Sept 17-21
It has been a 'Kindness' week here at MAS! This week we focused on being kind and keeping the kindness chain going in honor of #BeccaTold MeTo day. We have seen many students making great efforts and learning about how to choose kind.
We also had a visit from Harvest Jazz and Blues and were entertained by Dan Doiron. He had the whole school up tapping and keeping the beat to his tunes.
I want to thank all the parents that were able to come to our 'Welcome Parent Night' on Wednesday. I hope that the information that was shared was informative for you and you were able to learn a little about what your child will be doing this year. Also please reach out if you would like to join any of our parent committees- PSSC and/or Home and School. If at any time you have questions or concerns, please contact your child's teacher to discuss.

A few reminders:
Students Fees- Reminder that student fees are due. The cost this year is $45. This can be paid online or at school.

Homework Policy Reminder- Each week your child’s classroom teacher will update his/her teacher page to inform and share with you the weekly outcomes that are being taught in class, examples, and homework suggestions directly linked to classroom learning. Students of all grades are encouraged to read every night! Weekly homework suggestions allow for families to complete the activities/visit links/etc. to enhance their child’s learning at their academic level, reinforce skills taught in school, and promote student ownership in their learning. It allows for you as a family the flexibility to establish a routine, responsibility, and time management skills that meet your family needs and your child’s academic needs. It also gives your child empowerment to choose the activities they wish to complete and how they wish to show you what they are learning.

Cross-Country- Students in grades 3-5 that have shown interest in joining cross-country this year will be bringing home permission slips. Please read and sign the bottom of the form and return to school as soon as possible. The first meet is this Wednesday at Gibson Neill.

Hot Lunch October- Our hot lunch order forms for October will go home on Tuesday, September 18th and are due back on Thursday, September 27th.
