Memo for Garden Creek Parents and Guardians
Bienvenue a novembre les
Creekers! Welcome to November, Creekers!
As we move into this month, I
would like to thank you for your donations to our annual Trick or Eat campaign.
Everyone was so generous and I know how happy you will make others in need in
the coming weeks ahead.
Did you Know?? Did you know that Garden Creek has been accepted to participate
in a pilot of the EcoSchools Canada’s
national program?! This will be co-delivered through the Gaia
Project in NB. Throughout
the year, the school will complete a variety of environmental actions
and campaigns and earn points towards a certification as an EcoSchool. To
guide schools through the process, our EcoTeam ( still to be developed)
will be given training and resources throughout the pilot year.
At the end of the year, we will complete an application to receive
recognition for this important green work! More to come !
CREEKER CHRISTMAS BAZAAR – Bazaar
planning is in full swing! If you do not have time to shop for theme basket,
Santa’s workshop items and the like, you could always make a donation instead
and the little elves working for the Bazaar will purchase the items! See www.schoolcashonline.com and you
will see where you can donate and all funds will be used to make our Bazaar
great! We so appreciate your support as we fundraise for our playground!
-
Volunteers There
are still areas where we need volunteers for this day. More to come in a
separate note .
-
Wreath and Poinsettia orders – the info going out for this will
be delayed due to a fire at the vendor’s location. We will keep you in the know
when we are ready to proceed.
-
Santa’s Workshop – items are due by Wednesday . Thank you!
Remembrance Day Ceremony – Our
ceremony will take place at 10:30 AM this Thursday. You are welcome to attend
if you would like.
Doodle Sign up for Conferences – This
Friday, at 11:00 AM, all teachers will send out a doodle sign up for parent
teacher conferences taking place the week of November 18th (
mostly Wed afternoon, Thursday after school and evening as well as Friday
morning). Please sign up for a time so that your child’s teacher can meet with
you.
Grades 3-5 pick-up is now
at the balcony entrance . Parents are asked to come and meet their
child as we do not have a crosswalk at that location and we want to ensure the
safety of the students.
