​Hello MAS Families! This week our students brought their best smiles for picture day and participated in Orange shirt day. It has been great to visit our classrooms and seeing so much happiness, engagement, and learning happening.

 On Tuesday night our PSSC and Home and School met. During that meeting we discussed the opportunity to make a learning space outside on our playground. We are looking for any parent support- from volunteering time, muscle, expertise, or if you know of a company to make a donation to help purchase materials, etc. We are looking to plan a Saturday in October to help clean up a small wooded area, clear some brush, and prepare the ground for students to learn. If you are interested in helping in any way possible, please send me an email. Many hands will make for light work.

Reminders-

Internet Information- Monday a form will be coming home asking parents to complete and return the form to school. This form is to help us know what devices and internet students have access to at home if we were to ever move to a learning from home model.

Pre-Kindergarten Registration- If you have a child born in 2016, they will be coming to Kindergarten next fall! Please be sure to contact the school to let us know and we will help support your child’s registration. Registration will take place October 13-22. We encourage families to complete the registration online.

Fire Prevention Week- Next week will be fire prevention week. Students will participate in discussions and learning about fire safety.

Bottle Exchange- We are looking for a parent or parents to volunteer to help with our Bottle Exchange bin at Scholten’s convenience store. This job entails checking on and emptying the bin regularly and taking bottles to the exchange centre. We spoke with ‘Best Metals Exchange’ (Wilsey Road) and they will allow for a drop off and tally, so you would not need to wait. They would count bottles and let us know when to pick up cheque. This is a great school fundraiser. Please reach out if you are able to help.
