Hello MAS Families!  Happy Lunar New Year! Today we celebrated our STAR students with a focus on being an independent learning habit. Being independent in your learning means asking for help when you need it and persevering. We also learned more about the Chinese New Year and had a wonderful Chinese lunch.

Reminders:

NO School on Monday, January 27^th- This is a Professional Learning day for staff and no school for students.

Pink Shirt Day- Reminder PINK shirt orders are due back on February 7^th. Orders can be paid for through schoolcashonline. Please be sure to send in the order form when ordering online.

Sunshine Program-  (Every Friday) Friday, January 31st. Students in grades k-5 are invited to be dropped off between 7:20-7:30am (Students will NOT be allowed to attend if arriving after 7:30am). Students will enter front doors and go directly to classroom and put on indoor sneakers, then head down to gymnasium. Students will be involved in an exercise and movement program. At 8:00am students will be provided with a breakfast snack- smoothie and nutrigrain bar, toast, etc.

Breakfast Program- Breakfast on Tuesday, Jan. 28^th will be pancakes and fruit.

Earth Rangers- We are excited to Welcome Earth Rangers on Wednesday. The Earth Rangers School Assembly is a dynamic and interactive presentation that leverages the shared, innate connection children of all backgrounds have to animals. Through the power of live animal demonstrations and positive, science-based information, our high-quality program educates students about the importance of protecting biodiversity while highlighting real conservation initiatives across Canada.

Tuesday, January 28- Tots N Taters hot lunch.

Wednesday, January 29- Earth Rangers Presentation. NBA 2 Ball for selected students at the Currie Centre.

Thursday, January 30- Tots N Taters hot lunch.

Friday, January 31- Sunshine Program. Papa John’s Pizza.
