​Hello MAS Families! We have had a great first week back to school with lots of snow to play in. Everyone was excited to be back with lots of smiling faces around the building. We ended the week with a great Happy New Year pancake breakfast and oranges. Thank you to our teachers/EAs for coming in early to prepare the pancakes for our students.

This was our last Leo Hayes clubs for a bit as the high school students switch semesters. We will start these back up in mid February.

Reminders:

K-2 Parent Forum- I am still looking for a mixed group of K-2 parents that would be willing to meet the evening (6pm) of January 28th with our Extended day researcher. He is looking to speak to parents and get your input and feedback on the extra hour. Please email if you are interested.

Breakfast Program-  Our whole school breakfast program will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 15th. When the students arrive at school, if they wish to come have breakfast, please remind them to come in our grade 3-5 door. We will take off our boots and head down to the gymnasium to enjoy breakfast together. When the bell rings and once students are finished they will head up to class to start their day with full bellies. If you have any questions or would like to help out, please contact Helga (helgarennke@gmail.com) or Mrs. Burnett at the school.

French Immersion Registration- (Grade 1 and Grade 6 2019-2020) Parents who wish to have their child registered in a French Immersion Program are asked to complete the electronic registration form (located on the ASD-W web site: www.asd-w.nbed.nb.ca) (available January 15, 2019). The registration site will remain open for all registrations beyond February 28, 2019. If a parent registers and then wishes to withdraw their registration, they would access the same site and click on “Withdraw from French Immersion”. Parent information meeting for the Fredericton area will be held at FHS on Tuesday, January 15th.

Mr. Squire- As many of you may have heard it is Mr. Squire's last day on Wednesday, January 16th after 28 long years at MAS.  If you see him around next week, be sure to wish him well in Retirement.
