Grade 9 Immunization

This is a message for all parents or guardians of grade 9 students.  Public Health nurses will be coming to your school on October 20, 2020 to offer all grade 9 students their meningitis and chicken pox vaccines.  Your child should have received two information pamphlets at the start of the school year. We encourage you to make sure your child has had breakfast and snacks available for after the immunizations. Please ask that your child wear a short-sleeved shirt.

If the consent form has not been returned to your child’s teacher, please do so before the school clinic date.   These consents should be returned whether the student is being immunized or not.

 Please note

  • If your child had chicken pox disease after he or she was 1 year of age and that was confirmed by a blood test, they do not require the chicken pox vaccine.
  • If your child has a problem with their immune system, you should contact Public Health.

If you have any questions, please contact the Public Health Immunization line @ 506-453-8252 or e-mail your question to LVImmunization@gnb.ca.
