Cross Country for Wed. Sept. 18th

A note from Ms Prebble for families involved in cross-country on Wed. Sept. 18th:

Students should be at Morell park by 1pm and check-in with a PE teacher. This cross country is always busy since we're coordinating volunteers and setting up the cones. In saying that, there should be a Priestman PE teacher that will corral the PSS kids near the start line but behind the rope. We’ll be calling the kids down at snack recess tomorrow for a meeting to pick up their PSS shirts and discuss the race order, etc.

Colour Run Update
With less than a week to go here are a few things you need to know to prepare for the Colour Run. Having participated in one before, we suggest you start with a white t-shirt and although the corn starch will be aimed at torsos we suggest sunglasses (or goggles) to protect eyes. The colour came out of all of our clothes, but don’t wear brand new sneakers just in case. Baby wipes came in handy to wipe hands and faces afterward and we put towels on our car seats to get home. A camera will be essential to capture the fun! We will provide your race bib, safety pins, a finishers medal and water at the end of the course. There will be a BBQ onsite so be sure to bring a few dollars. Please check in at the registration table when you arrive.

Everyone will not be participating at the same time - we will be sending you in 'waves' to allow the volunteers at the colour stations a chance to refill throughout the event. The first wave of runners will leave the start line at 12:15 and the last group will leave at 1:30. This will also help reduce congestion at the obstacles.

NEW this year - we will have an inflatable obstacle from
Quilli's. It will be set up for us to enjoy BEFORE we are covered in colour.

We are looking for a few more volunteers to help at the colour stations and along the course to keep runners on course. If you are interested please let us know.
Since it is a Colour Run … take a peek on Pinterest for ideas. You can wear crazy socks, tutus, leis, headbands or crazy hair to add to the fun!
The course starts at 12:15pm inside the track at FHS. If by chance, the weather is inclement please look for updates here and on our school webpage.
See you soon!
