Principal's Message

Message

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Oromocto High School (OHS), I am pleased to welcome you to the 2020 -21 school year at OHS.  Oromocto High School serves students in grades 9-12 and has a student population of approximately 1100 students. Our school has a long history of excellence in academics as well as extracurricular activities.

It is a privilege to serve OHS and the Oromocto community as the principal of OHS. I consider it an honor to have the opportunity to lead one of the best schools in this province with an excellent, professional staff dedicated to providing the best education possible each and every day.  This year we all face challenges like no other time in history as a result of COVID-19 for all of our students and staff of OHS. As you are all aware students of OHS will be returning to a hybrid Learning model alternating every other day in classes at OHS. The expectation that students will be learning virtually through on-line when not physically at OHS. I have no doubt with the support of all our staff, families and community we will have a successful year. Our school has a bold vision to become a Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning being a leader in innovative practices in every classroom at OHS. Our entire staff will be working on that pursuit over the school year and years ahead.

You will want to stay informed on all of the activities and important information from the school. If you have an interest please follow us on Twitter at OromoctoHSBlues. Our Twitter will give you up to date information on activities and school news. We also communicate via our OHS website and via voice messages. Please make sure you keep up-to-date on any information you need by the method most convenient for you.

My message to each student this year is whenever possible to get involved in the activities of the school. Your experience at OHS is so much more than just the classroom. Be resilient! Like no other year your resiliency will be tested this year! Remember when you are facing new challenges you will experience set -backs, embrace it and move forward to work through it. Make healthy choices, remember you always have the choice to do the right thing. You always will have people around you to support you or help when you need to reach out to a family member, teacher, counselor, administrator or friend.

OHS sincerely appreciates the sustained support provided by our parents, our PSSC, our local community members, and local businesses and organizations. We pledge to continue to work hard to make our academic and extracurricular programs even stronger to ensure our students are successful and prepared for the future. They deserve no less.

Welcome to Oromocto High School! I wish everyone a great school year
