Post-Secondary Information Grade 12

Personnel at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development have communicated with four post-secondary institutions in New Brunswick and have gathered information to share with our Grade 12 students. Please see the attached document for more information.Post-Secondary Information for Grade 12 April 2020.pdfPost-Secondary Information for Grade 12 April 2020.pdf

April 13

Dear OHS Grads

sincerely hope you are all doing well.  Please know we are thinking of you and if you need anything please reach out.

I would like to send along an update re: admissions at post-secondary institutions and scholarship information.  Information from institutions are still in flux as the universities are working with the province to review their admissions and scholarship requirements. This is what I am able to share with you as April 13, 2020

St Thomas University

Guaranteed entrance awards and some major awards have been circulated to successful candidates who provided their first semester final transcripts.  STU will continue to offer entrance scholarships based on first-semester final transcripts; if students can’t procure official copies, we will accept unofficial documentation during this stressful time. Please contact St Thomas if you require assistance.

Our scholarship team largely assesses the students on their predicted marks that admissions would estimate to offer the student a tentative acceptance. We expect that all scholarships will be sent out on time, the end of April.  If a student has any questions please direct them to Awards@unb.ca.

NBCC campuses as well as NBCC's Admissions Service are closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 virus, we are expecting significant delays in processing applications and are working towards a solution....

Please be assured that, as per NBCC’s First Qualified, First Accepted policy, completed application (including application fee payment and transcript of marks) will be processed based on the date and time received as per current practice.

There are currently no impacts on programs beginning in fall 2020 or winter 2021. Applicants who have not paid their confirmation fee to date will not be removed from their program if payment is not received by the deadline and NBCC is reviewing ways to mitigate this in our system data until CAS is fully operational.

Finally, please note that we will not be accepting applications from grade 11 students on April 1st as per our normal practice. Grade 11 prospective students are able to apply starting June 1st!
