This Tuesday, January 8th, we will be having our second tryouts for the gr. 6 and tier 2 girls teams.

NMS is looking for a grade 6 girls AND boys tier 2 Basketball coaches. If someone is interested they should contact mr. Chiasson as soon as possible. A criminal record check and list of experience is required. (CRC can be handed in after the holidays).

Department of Education and Early Childhood Development announced revisions to
Policy 711: Healthier School Food Environment.

these new standards, chocolate milk and 100 per cent fruit juice will be
permitted to be sold in public schools.
also be some flexibility for schools providing breakfast programs to students
who need a better start to their school day.
fundraising and special events, schools will be empowered to organize
activities and occasions that respond to the needs of the local school
celebrations, holidays, and special occasions will be permitted, although
timing of these events must be reasonable and undertaken in moderation.
main goal of the policy will continue to be to promote and make available
healthy foods and beverages at school whenever and wherever possible.
The TRRFC Group is organizeing a drive to bring in toiletry items! Ie. Travel size toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes, dental floss, lip balm, instant coffee, cup of soup and bottle sof water. A student lead group will make the "Blessing Bags" fron the donations and then distribute them to local shelters within Fredericton area. Last year we gave out over 200 "Blessing Bags" to five shelters. All items MUST be in by December 14th!
TRRFC group is also organizing a Variety Show to showcase the talent in our school. This show will be Tuesday, December 18th during Period 4 and an evening show starting at 5:30! Admission is a new pair of socks. All socks collected will go in the "Blessing Bags".

Rafiki Bracelet Campaign~(November 26th- December 7th)~These beautiful handcrafted bracelets are available to purchase everyday
outside the theatre at lunch & online via cashless schools. There are over 30
bracelets to choose from. Each bracelet is handmade by a woman in Kenya. All
proceeds go directly back to her and her family, as well as, to an overseas
community to help with life changing things like clean water or school
The bracelets will be delivered before the Christmas
break- so they’d make a great holiday present or stocking stuffer!
