​Good Afternoon Families of McAdam Avenue School and Nashwaaksis Memorial Elementary School,

We are writing to share that today, the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development announced the site location for the new Kindergarten-to-Grade 5 school on Fredericton’s northwest side. The new school will be built on McAdam Avenue School’s current site and will be home to both McAdam Avenue and Nashwaaksis Memorial Elementary School students upon completion.

The school will accommodate up to 530 students and feature flexible learning environments, including 27 classrooms, space for music and performing arts, a gym, a library, a cafeteria and multi-use rooms.

We look forward to the addition of a new building to the school district and the community. Students, families and staff will benefit, and learning will take place in a specially designed setting to accommodate student needs.

During construction, students attending McAdam Avenue School will be relocated to Nashwaaksis Memorial Elementary School. We will share more information with families as plans are finalized.
