​ NSCC’s Nautical Institute offers Transport Canada-certified marine programs that are unique to the Maritimes and prepare the next generation of seafarers. The marine industry is growing, and career prospects are stable well into the future. Along with the opportunity for international travel and generous vacation allowance, a ship’s officer can secure a starting salary as high as $70,000!  To diversify the workforce in the marine industry the federal government has dedicated funding for women and Indigenous people to pursue nautical training. This funding is part of NSCC’s A’paqt (Oceans) project.

 NSCC will be conducting a series of webinars to provide more information on NSCC’s Nautical Institute, including info on our brand-new residence building and the marine programs that kickstart careers at sea. H
