RE: UPDATE FROM PUBLIC HEALTH AND LEARNING PLAN FOR NACKAWIC SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Good Afternoon Families of Nackawic Senior High School,

Public Health has informed us that those students and families who were required to isolate until 11:59 p.m. today, Sunday, June 6, can end their isolation tonight as planned. This group will be receiving a letter from Public Health shortly. Those who have been identified as a close contact and told to self-isolate for 14 days are required to continue with their self-isolation until the end of the 14-day period.

Learning Plan for Students

Starting tomorrow, Monday, June 7, and extending to next Monday, June 14, inclusive, students will continue to learn online and from home. This plan for learning is due to the high number of staff vacancies that cannot be backfilled at this time. Students are asked to follow their regular schedule online and from home.

Your school principal will send a message to all staff and families with further instructions, including some plans about final assessments. Please watch for his message.

Once again, if you or your child are showing any symptoms of COVID-19, you should:

  1. Register online for a test by clicking “Get tested” on the GNB coronavirus website (www.gnb.ca/coronavirus), OR
  2. Contact Tele-Care 811. The 811 operators will evaluate you or your child before sending you for testing.

We appreciate your continued patience and support as we respond to the pandemic. We will reassess the situation again next Monday, June 14, and provide you with an update on continued learning at that time.

Sincerely,

David McTimoney, Superintendent
